MINISTER’S VISIT TO PILTOWN
JUNE 12TH, 2020
We were delighted to welcome the Minister of State for Sport and Gaeltacht Affairs, Jack Chambers to Piltown on Monday.
Minister Chambers was accompanied by Cilles very own supporter- Minister Thomas Byrne and hard working local Councillors Wayne Harding and Thomas Behan.
Minister Chambers spent a very significant amount of time with Club officers and some of our young players and listened intently to the infrastructure challenges facing the club and community , our development plans and the barriers being faced by the club in achieving our goals. He spoke about his vision of the future of sport finance in Ireland and the role that Community focussed Clubs such as St Colmcilles play in modern Irish society. It is fair to say that the Minister’s views are shared by the club.
We were honoured to welcome Jack to Piltown and delighted to have the opportunity to air our views and outline the problems and challenges we faced and have the department’s support for our infrastructure and our community vision. A big thanks to Minister Byrne for organising the visit and to all who attended the morning and who support us in every way.
